I used to have a recurring nightmare that I was driving down the highway, and hit a patch of ice (or was hit by another car), and went into a spin so violent it pinned me against the steering wheel like Maverick in his F14 flat spin, unable to reach the ejection handles.

Last night, a new one.

Kinja'd!!!

I dreamed that a tech at work and I were goofing around at some company outing, and grabbed the keys to a Mazda3 that belonged to a fellow coworker. For some reason I did not (or could not?) buckle my belt, as I began the ride-along as a passenger in the right front seat.

It was fun for a bit, we were driving on the grass, doing donuts, but then he started to pick up some straightline speed. We bounded over a walkway, and started heading for a pond/swamp/lake. I could see the pussy willows standing in the near distance, and as if he could not I shouted out "look out for the swamp!"

It was too late. We went into the water with enough force to blow the airbags, and shatter the windshield. Once again, I was pinned against the dash, unable to move.

My wife said I woke her up, saying I was having a heart attack, and my heart was racing but I was still asleep.

Ugh, never going to forget that dream.... just like the spinning one.

One time, I dreamed I ate spaghetti, and when I woke up, there was pasta sauce everywhere!

When I was a kid I had recurring nightmares (or strange dreams) that we were out in my dad's MG and the wheels fell off, but we got out oars and started rowing. I'll never forget that dream. Especially since we were out one day when I was much older and a wheel actually fell off...

watch out for swamps and crazy coworker drivers!

I once had I dream were I accidently drove a DBS of a bridge into the ocean. Woke up exactly when I hit the water.

Damn that's scary dude, I hate being a passenger :(

I've had a similar type recurring dream where i'm exactly 27 years old (had this dream since I was probably 4) and I was on my way to Galveston or South Padre Island TX. Needless to say, in a car you have to cross in a bridge like this...

Kinja'd!!!

well in my dream, i'm in my car juuuust about to get on the bridge when suddenly either my engine fails, steering fails, or someone knocks me to the right of the bridge (in the pic, it would be just to the right of the bridge entry by all those stores and a mini pier). I go straight forward, miss the bridge, and crash into the water. It is hella deep and I start sinking way quick. I can't escape and drown.

I used to have a reoccurring dream as a child that I was trapped in a diesel electric locomotive that was sinking underwater, and I couldn't get out. For some reason my entire first grade class decided to take a field trip to a "underwater train graveyard" and I got stuck in a train as it was going underwater, and all they could do was watch.

To this day I have no idea what that meant, maybe my subconscious was telling me I should invest in stocks, I'm not sure.

That's a VERY common dream of mine. I watch waaaaay too many videos on water crashes...

BTW - What's the story behind that Beetle? That's like the perfect argument right there for a sunroof!

Emergency escape hatch? Yes.

I have a deathly fear of drowning. That, and drowning. Plus more drowning.

I should learn to swim....
